About The Role:
Our Assistant Systems Accountant is a great opportunity for an early career graduate interested in expanding experience in financial systems, and general accounting and financial tasks.
Primarily supporting the Finance Business Improvement Lead and Council’s Divisional Accountants, this diverse role will undertake end of month financial tasks, project work and budget preparation, in addition to supporting the maintenance and integrity of the Council’s financial system.
To be successful in the role, you will be a systems and Excel guru with strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills. As someone with effective organisational skills, you will be self-lead in managing your work, and able to work well under guidance and direction. As the position works as part of a team and is expected to liaise with key stakeholders across the Council, effective interpersonal and communication skills is required.

About Our Team:
The Financial Services team are responsible for delivering an efficient and effective finance function for the organisation. Services include financial reporting, strategic management accounting, budgeting, long term financial planning, taxation and internal control.
The Detail:
The position is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis to 31st July 2026 and is classified at Level 4, with a starting salary range of $92,105.52 to $98,608.64 per annum + Super + Annual Leave Loading.
