About The Role:Are you passionate about shaping the infrastructure that keeps communities connected and thriving?The City of Charles Sturt is seeking a Design Officer to support the planning, design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects across our City. In this role, you will contribute to the development of concept designs, detailed engineering plans and cost estimates for roads, paths, stormwater assets, traffic management initiatives and public lighting projects. The role undertakes design and drafting work for projects of minor to moderate complexity while supporting the delivery of larger, more complex projects. Working as part of a collaborative and high-performing team, you will provide technical design advice, contribute to project teams, assist with community consultation activities and help ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, on schedule and within budget. You'll also have opportunities to develop your technical expertise and apply innovative engineering design methodologies that create positive outcomes for our community. About You: You have qualifications in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline) and/or relevant demonstrated experience. You have experience preparing engineering designs and drawings for civil infrastructure projects. You have experience using AutoCAD and exposure to design software such as 12D. You possess strong analytical, investigative and creative problem-solving skills.  You can effectively communicate and build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. You enjoy working collaboratively while also being capable of managing your own workload and priorities. You have an understanding of engineering design principles, construction practices and local government infrastructure. You are customer-focused and committed to delivering quality outcomes for the community.
