About the job

Working as part of our Open Space, Recreation and Property Portfolio this role is responsible for leading and influencing carbon emission reduction activities across the organisation to achieve Councils target of a reduction in corporate emissions by 2030.

The role will be highly influential, will positively manage change, and be committed to delivering long term and financially sustainable actions.

Using your knowledge of council’s carbon emission profile, you will develop the next stage of Councils corporate emissions reduction strategy to reduce councils’ emissions.

You will lead and support other business units to reduce corporate emissions and to standardise and monitor our emissions reporting procedures across the organization.

As a key influencer you will contribute to the alignment of council’s internal systems and procedures to international standards for climate reporting (ISSB IFRS S2) particularly around carbon emissions and transition risk disclosures/reporting.

The finer details 

The position is offered on a three year, full time contract basis and is due to commence on 1 July 2024. The Carbon Emission Reduction Lead position is classified at Administration Level 7, with a base salary starting from $114,967 per annum plus super and annual leave loading.
