We seek people passionate about what they do and who thrive on seeking creative solutions.About the vacanciesOur City Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining Council’s stormwater network, foreshore management and our water and waste operations.We currently have two vacancies within the Sweeping team where you will primarily perform operating and labouring duties, completing daily allocated tasks to a high standard and in line with customer service level expectations.Due to the nature of the work, early starts (as early as 4am), late finishes, overtime and weekend work may be required due to special events, increased service levels, emergencies and to cover leave, and flexibility to work across other teams during seasonal and peak periods is required. Penalty rates are payable in line with our Award when this work is required.About YouWe are seeking applications from candidates who have:A strong safety focus, to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace;You hold an MR Licence and a White Card;It would be desirable that you hold one of the following licences – LW Excavator or Loader, LB Backhoe, or LL Skid Steer;You have proven experience working in a role requiring a variety of operating and labouring tasks, preferably with experience in street sweeping;You possess effective communication skills when liaising with customers, suppliers and your work colleagues; andYou show flexibility and willingness to work across a variety of tasks and teams as required, and take pride in maintaining a positive and ‘can do’ attitude. These positions are offered on a permanent, full-time basis, with standard working hours of 76 hours per fortnight, worked over 9 days.
