The Placemaking function focuses on the delivery, creation and activation of spaces and places that cultivate arts and cultural outcomes, exceptional placemaking experiences and authentic community engagement opportunities.About the JobAn exciting opportunity has emerged in our Urban Projects portfolio for a highly motivated, optimistic and experienced professional to contribute to the implementation of Council’s Place Making Framework. Your passion for Place Making and creative thinking ability will help to identify and deliver upon Place Making opportunities. As a Place Leader you will use outstanding communication and collaboration skills to develop strong and productive relationships with key stakeholders including community leaders, business owners, residents and communities of interest. You will be responsible for administering Council’s Arts & Culture Grant Program to support locally led projects, events, and initiatives and will use your community engagement experience to achieve great outcomes to deliver on key capital projects, along with your ability for Place Making advocacy both internally and externally to the organisation. About You:You will have the drive and commitment for connecting with communities and stakeholders to transform spaces into places people love within the City of Charles Sturt. We are seeking applications from candidates who are passionate about creating places, not designs and who are:  Innovative and creative thinker not afraid to test ideas in a quest to work with the community to solve problems, create unique experiences and build, revitalise, or reimagine public spaces.Skilled project manager with a collaborative approach that puts people at the heart of the process.Experienced in co-designing projects and collaboratively activating places based on a solid understanding of placemaking practices.Motivator, facilitator, and community engagement professional that capitalises on community assets, knowledge and uniqueness, uncovers joint aspirations, builds a shared vision, and inspires people to actively shape their neighbourhoods.Highly developed interpersonal skills with a strong focus on delivering excellence in community experience.A proven ability to successfully communicate with people at all levels.
